BALTIMORE (AP) - Baltimore police have recovered the gun used to fatally shoot a beloved rapper.

Department spokesman T.J. Smith says officers recently arrested a man who was in possession of the gun, which matched the weapon used to kill Tyriece “Lor Scoota” Watson on June 25 as he was leaving a charity basketball game.

Smith says the man arrested is considered a “person of interest.”

Police have said Watson’s killing was retaliatory, and that someone close to Watson may have been linked to a previous violent crime.

Days after Watson’s death, his manager, Trayvon Lee, was fatally shot.
