BAY ST. LOUIS, Miss. (AP) - The Bay St. Louis-Waveland School District superintendent has resigned.

School Board attorney Ronnie Artigues tells local media that Superintendent Rebecca Ladner submitted a letter of resignation to the board during Monday’s meeting.

School Board President Casey Favre said in a letter to faculty and staff that Ladner resigned “due to personal obligations that require her urgent attention.” Further details of Ladner’s resignation haven’t been released.

The board has temporarily assigned Assistant Superintendent Vikki Landry to handle superintendent duties until the board selects an interim superintendent.
