RUSTON, La. (AP) - Louisiana Tech Athletics Director Tommy McClelland has unveiled plans to replace the Joe Aillet Stadium press box with a new, more spacious, multi-level structure that will include private suites and media seating.

The project, announced Tuesday, is the centerpiece of $18.6 million in improvements scheduled for completion by the 2017 season.

The first floor of the new structure will house 14 suites, including a presidential suite. The top level will house print and broadcast media, game day operations and athletic director suites.

The project, which also includes bathroom, ticket office and aesthetic improvements, is the stadium’s second major enhancement effort this decade.

Last year, the $22 million Davison Athletics Complex, featuring high-end seating stacked on top of locker rooms, meeting rooms and offices, opened behind the south end zone.
