NORTH MANITOU ISLAND, Mich. (AP) - A unique property with a view of northern Michigan’s Sleeping Bear Dunes and the Manitou islands is up for auction.

MLive.com reports (https://bit.ly/2aWjBgM ) the obsolete North Manitou Shoal Light is on the auction block after no buyers were found for it in the last year.

It includes four bedrooms, plumbing and generator-powered electrical service. Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore and the Lighthouse Friends group say its concrete base is anchored into the bottom of Lake Michigan in about 26 feet of water.

The U.S. General Services Administration is organizing a group visit Aug. 30 to the lighthouse. The visit is open to registered bidders who have paid a $10,000 deposit.

Three other Lake Michigan lighthouses are being auctioned, including the White Shoal Light. Details are posted online.
