LEICESTER, N.Y. (AP) - A 35-year-old man has died after being struck by two cars as he lay on a road in western New York.

State police say Michael Perry of Mount Morris in Livingston County was lying in the southbound lane of Route 36 in Leicester when he was struck around 3:20 Tuesday morning. He was struck a second time as he tried to crawl across the lane.

Police say it’s not clear why Perry was in the road. He was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, where he later died.
