VINITA, Okla. (AP) - A man who walked away from a minimum-security prison in northeast Oklahoma this weekend has been captured by authorities.

The Tulsa World reports (https://bit.ly/2bgdN0u ) that William Fidel Stewart Jr., 44, was found late Monday in the woods about five miles north of the Northeast Oklahoma Correction Center. Stewart had escaped the Vinita prison on Sunday.

Stewart was serving time for possessing a controlled dangerous substance and using a bogus check. He was previously convicted twice for escapes from state penitentiaries and a third time for escape from a jail.
