MILTON, N.H. (AP) - Police say a man has been arrested on a drunken driving charge after driving into a construction zone and crashing into two stopped vehicles in Milton, New Hampshire.

Fifty-six-year-old Donald Pierce, of Kingston, was arrested early Tuesday after the Route 16 crash. A teen driver in one of the other vehicles suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say the traffic pattern required vehicles to use one lane for both northbound and southbound traffic and was controlled by flaggers. Troopers in marked cruisers with blue emergency lights and multiple illuminated signs provided warning to drivers. At the time of the crash, flaggers had northbound traffic stopped.

Pierce is scheduled to appear Aug. 23 in Rochester Circuit Court. It wasn’t immediately known if he had a lawyer; a phone message was left at home.
