NEW FREEDOM, Pa. (AP) - Authorities say there’s been another case of upholstery tacks scattered on the Heritage Rail Trail that runs through parts of York and Baltimore counties.

The York Daily Record/Sunday News reported Tuesday (https://bit.ly/2bcKsVG ) that about 100 tacks were found over the weekend.

It’s the third time in six weeks they’ve been planted on the Pennsylvania portion of the recreational trail.

York County is offering a $500 reward for information about the crime and is increasing its ranger patrols. Investigators are asking neighbors, businesses and trail users to report anything suspicious.

Several bicyclists report that their tires have been damaged by the vandalism.

Tacks were found on a portion of the trail in Maryland last month.
