AUBURN, Maine (AP) - Authorities say state Route 4 was temporarily blocked off in Auburn near the Turner town line following a large leak in diesel fuel from a tractor-trailer.

Sgt. Matt Daley tells The Sun Journal (https://bit.ly/2baPW6N ) that roughly 70 gallons of fuel spilled onto the roadway after the truck snapped a drag shaft, which punctured its fuel tank.

The report was called in at about 1:45 p.m. Monday. Police closed the road while the Auburn Highway Department cleaned up the scene.

Maine State Police’s Commercial Motor Vehicle Unit is investigating the incident.
