COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - Republican South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley says given a choice between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, she supports Trump for president.

But she told a Statehouse news conference Monday she’ll continue to speak up when she thinks someone is wrong.

Local media outlets report Haley’s comments came a week after criticism of Trump’s treatment of the parents of a Muslim U.S. Army captain killed in Iraq. Haley didn’t mention Trump by name last week, but she said Monday that “Gold Star families are off-limits. Period.”

Haley said she supports Trump’s intention to nominate a conservative to the U.S. Supreme Court.

But she said she’s not going to always comment on the back-and-forth between presidential candidates telling reporters “I have a state to run.”
