SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - The National Weather Service expects a round of thunderstorms to hit the western Dakotas on Tuesday evening and move east overnight with the potential for later flash flooding.

The service says some of the storms may be severe with heavy rainfall.

The service says the storms will make some areas more susceptible to flash flooding on Wednesday.

Officials say there’s high confidence that heavy rain will occur through Wednesday evening, but specific locations aren’t certain yet.
