SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) - Police on a Phoenix-area Indian reservation say two people were arrested after an officer fired gunshots at a suspicious vehicle that rammed the officer’s vehicle and another police car.

Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community police say the incident occurred early Thursday morning at the Talking Stick Resort and Casino near Scottsdale.

According to police, security had approached a suspicious vehicle in a parking garage and the vehicle then took off, almost hitting some casino patrons.

Police say officers then tried to block in the vehicle, and that’s when the ramming and shooting occurred.

The vehicle took off again but broke down a short distance away and officers arrested a man and a woman. Identities were not released.

No officers were injured.
