CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - Police in Charlotte say a man has been stabbed to death by someone he knew.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police told local media outlets that the stabbing happened shortly after 4:30 a.m. Monday in the southern part of the city. Officers said the man was taken to Carolinas Medical Center where he died.

The man’s name has not been released.

No arrests have been reported. Investigators said the victim and the suspect knew each other. No possible motives have been released.
