NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Police in North Little Rock have identified the man killed when he was struck by a car on the city’s east side.

Police said Monday that 64-year-old Carlous Guthrie died when he was struck shortly before 6 p.m. Saturday.

A police report says Guthrie was walking eastbound across Highway 161 when he was struck.

The report says the driver of the car told officers he tried to swerve, but was unable to avoid Guthrie, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
