MOOSIC, Pa. (AP) - Wintry weather was affecting various parts of Pennsylvania, with the northeastern part of the state bearing the brunt of a system that produced rain farther south, but icy and snowy conditions to the north.

A multi-vehicle accident on Interstate 81 near Moosic was one of the more serious incidents. The extent of injuries or number of vehicles involved wasn’t clear.

PennDOT dropped the speed limit on Interstates 80, 81, 84 and 380 in the region to 45 mph, but lifted the restriction by 8:30 a.m. Monday.

The 45 mph limit remained on stretches of Interstates 99 and 80 in west-central Pennsylvania.

Snowy weather gave way to ice and then rain overnight in the Pittsburgh area. But along the I-80 corridor and north, now and ice was complicating matters for Monday morning commuters.
