VINCENNES, Ind. (AP) - The Red Skelton Museum of American Comedy in Vincennes is accepting nominations for the “Red Skelton: America’s Clown” award.

It says nominees must be a living comedian who is or was active within the past 100 years in stage, radio, film, or television and has engaged in a ‘family-friendly’ style.

Individuals may nominate up to three comedians for the award by Jan. 31 and should email the name and a brief description for each to [email protected] or through a Facebook message on the Red Skelton Museum of American Comedy page.

The recipient will be selected by a committee comprised of the museum staff, members of the Red Skelton Museum Foundation, professional entertainers and popular culture educators.

The award will be presented at the annual Red Skelton Festival next July.
