ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - A winter storm has sent school districts across central New York scrambling.

Scores of school delays were reported early Monday and Holland Patent, Utica, Hamilton, New Hartford, Remsen, Richfield Springs, and Westmoreland were among schools that took a snow day and closed.

In eastern New York, a winter weather advisory was in effect until noon Monday. Total snow accumulation of three to five inches was expected, but temperatures were predicted to reach into the 40s by afternoon.

In the southern Adirondack Mountains, a winter storm warning remained in effect until noon. Total snow accumulation of four to six inches was expected there.
