LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) - Wyoming linebacker Logan Wilson has been named to the USA Today Sports Freshman All-America Team.

Wilson was one of three freshmen linebackers selected to the 25-member team.

Wilson was named the Mountain West Conference freshman of the year in voting by conference head coaches and media. The redshirt freshman from Casper ranked No. 1 among all Mountain West freshmen in tackles this season, averaging 6.8 tackles per game. He also ranked No. 21 overall in the league in tackles.

On the season, Wilson was fourth on the Cowboy team with 88 tackles. He also recorded three sacks, 7.5 tackles for loss, three interceptions for 83 yards, three fumble recoveries, three pass breakups and one forced fumble.
