BOZEMAN, Mont. (AP) - A Belgrade woman who told law enforcement officers that she gave permission for her 15-year-old daughter to have a sexual relationship with a registered sex offender faces a charge of felony accountability to sexual intercourse without consent.

The sex offender, 28-year-old Aliea Rose Brown, has pleaded not guilty to sexual intercourse without consent. Brown, a transgender woman previously known as Albert Brown, was convicted of a sexual offense as a juvenile.

Gallatin County prosecutors say the mother told investigators that she believed it was OK for her daughter and Brown to have a sexual relationship as long as they had parental consent.

The Bozeman Daily Chronicle reports (bit.ly/2hr5e5O) the 39-year-old mother has not been arrested, but was ordered to appear in court on Jan. 4. The Associated Press is not identifying her to avoid identifying the girl.
