BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - A driver who admitted he was high on marijuana when his car struck and killed a baby in a stroller has been sentenced to prison.

Acting Erie County District Attorney Michael Flaherty says 44-year-old D’Andre Turner of Buffalo was sentenced Monday to 1 ½ to 3 years in prison by State Supreme Court Justice Penny Wolfgang.

Turner pleaded guilty in November to criminally negligent homicide, driving while impaired by drugs and assault for striking three people with his car in June.

The crashed killed 7-month-old Nyree Greene and injured her mother and aunt.

Turner told investigators he was reaching to pick up a pen when he swerved across the road and struck the women and baby.
