NEW YORK (AP) - Police have released surveillance video in that shows someone breaking a religious statue outside a New York City church while apparently posing for photos.

The New York Police Department says several people approached the front of Our Lady of Consolation Catholic Church on in Brooklyn’s Williamsburg section just before midnight Saturday.

A church surveillance video shows one person posing in between religious statues while another person apparently takes a selfie after climbing onto a platform holding one of the statues. A third person attempts to climb onto the platform but stumbles into the first person, causing that person to fall onto a statue and break it off at its base.

The NYPD is seeking the public’s help in identifying two of the people shown in the video. They face criminal mischief charges.
