COLLEGE STATION, Texas (AP) - Police in College Station say evidence suggests that the shooting of a 17-year-old happened accidentally as a 16-year-old handled a gun.

Officials said Tuesday that the shooting happened Monday afternoon during a gathering of several people at an apartment.

Police say the 17-year-old male, who lives in College Station, was taken to the hospital with a single gunshot wound to his chest. Police say the 16-year-old male who shot him lives in Houston.
