FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (AP) - A Fayetteville woman has been accused of embezzling more than $25,000 from Harris Teeter.

The Fayetteville Observer reports (https://bit.ly/2gCxw0o) that according to an arrest warrant, 25-year-old Jennifer Lynn Kain was charged Friday by the Hope Mills Police Department with embezzlement and possessing stolen property. Kain is a former Harris Teeter employee.

The warrant says Kain began embezzling money from a Harris Teeter store in June. It didn’t specify which Harris Teeter location was affected.

According to the warrant, Kain admitted to officers that she embezzled more than $36,000 from the grocery store in June. However, the warrant says officers have only found evidence that Kain embezzled $25,512.62 from Harris Teeter.

It’s unclear if Kain has an attorney.
