NEWARK, N.J. (AP) - Five men have pleaded guilty to aggravated assault in the beating of a man who was promoting his business in Newark. The attack was captured on videotape by a bystander.

Under terms of a plea agreement, the five will face three years in prison where they’re sentenced in January.

Prosecutors say the 28-year-old victim was handing out flyers, free cigarettes and compact discs at the corner of Broad and Market streets in January when the group told him to leave because he was taking business away from them. When the man ignored them, he was beaten.

The man sustained injuries to his head, face and body.
