NEW YORK (AP) - Authorities say a 1-year-old boy has died and two adults have been seriously injured in a Brooklyn high-rise fire.

The fire broke out at around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday in a 13th floor kitchen at the Howard Houses in Brownsville.

Police say the toddler, Ivan Baez, was pronounced dead at a hospital. Six other people in the apartment were treated for smoke inhalation and minor injuries.
