OXFORD, Miss. (AP) - A DeSoto County man has been sentenced to the maximum 50 years in federal prison after pleading guilty to making and distributing child pornography.

Senior U.S. District Judge Neal Biggers on Monday handed down the sentence against Stephen Richard Lightman, a 34-year-old Olive Branch resident.

Lightman was indicted after an FBI task force raided his house in June, finding pornographic videos of minors on his computer and mobile phone. Agents also found evidence that he had video-recorded a molestation and shared video of a separate sexual act.

The four-count indictment could have brought a 100-year prison sentence. Lightman pleaded guilty to two counts in August.

Lightman was also sentenced to lifetime supervised release and ordered to pay $15,000 in restitution to victims. He’s jailed pending his transfer to federal prison.
