TRENTON, N.J. (AP) - Arctic air will plunge temperatures around New Jersey.

Forecasters say the bitter cold will start spreading into the region late Wednesday night and Thursday. Wind gusts of 45 mph are possible and the wind chill could be near zero for most of the state and approach minus 15 degrees in the higher elevations of Sussex County.

Forecasters say snow is possible over northwest New Jersey on Friday night, while other parts could receive a wintry mix.
