MONONA, Iowa (AP) - The Iowa State Patrol says one person is dead after being hit by a car in northeast Iowa.

The patrol tells Mason City television station KIMT (https://bit.ly/2hmx0TD ) that a person crossing the road at an intersection on the southern edge of Monona was hit Tuesday evening by a vehicle traveling west on Highway 18 in Clayton County.

The name of the pedestrian has not been released pending notification of family members.

The patrol says the driver of the vehicle was a 36-year-old Postville man.
