PITTSBURGH (AP) - The University of Pittsburgh Medical Center says it plans to train doctors at a women’s hospital that’s opening in the southeastern part of China.

UPMC says the country expects that more people will need OB-GYN services after the country last year ended its policy of barring many families from having more than one child.

Macare Women’s Hospital plans to open next month with the goal of creating a more personalized and enjoyable experience for women.

UPMC says five Macare physicians will train at Magee-Womens Hospital of UPMC in Oakland for three months beginning in January. Their training will focus on areas including high-risk pregnancies, anesthesia and ultrasounds.

UPMC says it also plans to have experts evaluate Macare’s infrastructure, services and operations.

The organizations also plan to negotiate a long-term deal.
