SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - High winds caused scaffolding to collapse in Salt Lake City, leaving two construction workers injured.

The Salt Lake Tribune reports (https://bit.ly/2h62wSD ) that the collapse occurred Thursday morning at The Gateway shopping center in Salt Lake City. Salt Lake City police Sgt. Brandon Shearer said one worker suffered serious injuries when he fell three stories. A second worker had minor injuries after falling one story.

The metal braces and wooden planks that fell landed on cars that were parked there.

Shearer says scaffolding tipped over when winds caught the plastic cover around.

He says the Occupational Safety and Health Administration will investigate the incident.
