LEXINGTON, Neb. (AP) - An autopsy helped authorities identify the body that was found near Lexington earlier this week.

The Dawson County Sheriff’s office told the Kearney Hub (https://bit.ly/2hzcSvf ) that the body was identified as 37-year-old Jose Hernandez.

Chief Deputy Sheriff Mike Hudson says an autopsy was needed to identify the body because of the condition it was in.

Hernandez was found Monday on a farmstead in Dawson County, about 2½ miles north of Lexington.

Authorities searched the home and outbuildings on the five-acre property where Hernandez’ body was found.
