LAKE GEORGE, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say a short section of the northbound lanes of the Adirondack Northway has reopened after being closed for more than four hours by an accident.

The state Department of Transportation says the northbound lanes were closed Thursday morning from Exit 20 in Queensbury to Exit 21 in the neighboring town of Lake George, 55 miles north of Albany. They began reopening around 2 p.m.

State police say the crash involved a tractor-trailer and snowplow. Troopers say no injuries were reported. The cause is being investigated.

Northbound traffic was diverted off the Northway at Exit 20 to Route 9 north and redirected four miles to re-enter the highway at Exit 21.

I-87’s 170-mile Northway section between Albany and the Canadian border is the main highway to Montreal.
