KISSIMMEE, Fla. (AP) - A central Florida school official has been arrested as part of a prostitution sting.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office said Thursday that 42-year-old Matthew Phillips was among 114 suspects arrested for either soliciting or advertising prostitution during the past week.

Phillips faces a charge of offering to engage in lewdness and batter.

The sheriff’s office says in a statement that Phillips is director of elementary school curriculum in neighboring Osceola County.

The Orlando Sentinel (https://bit.ly/2gFGp4v ) reports that Osceola County Schools has placed him on leave.

No online court records on his case had been filed by Thursday.
