HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (AP) - Construction is set to begin on a new residence hall on the campus of the University of Alabama in Huntsville.

Al.com (https://bit.ly/2hK965c ) reports that the university is starting construction Thursday on the second phase of Charger Village, a 400-bed, $32.6 million residence hall. The building is expected to be completed in June 2018.

The residence hall will be located adjacent to the original Charger Village and will essentially mirror the original residence hall.

The construction is expected to result in the permanent closure of part of Charger Way so as to allow for expansion to the south of the campus greenway.
