DETROIT (AP) - The UAW-Ford is donating holiday meals to families in the Detroit area.

Officials with the union and Ford Motor Co. will hand out boxes of food Saturday morning at the Trade Union Leadership Council Building, Fellowship Chapel and the Butzel recreation center in Detroit.

Meals also will be distributed at the fire station in Highland Park.

Area churches also have identified families in need and will distribute meals to them.

Each box will contain a turkey, stuffing, macaroni and cheese, cranberry sauce, cornbread mix, vegetables, and cake mix and frosting.

The donations are part of UAW-Ford’s fourth annual Boxes of Love program. More than 25,000 meals will be given to families in need in 17 states.

UAW-Ford is a collaboration of the United Auto Workers and Dearborn-based Ford Motor Co.
