MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) - Wide receiver David Sills, who transferred from West Virginia to a California junior college after the 2015 season, is returning to the Mountaineers.

Sills was among seven junior college players whose signings were announced by West Virginia on Wednesday night for the 2017 season.

The 6-foot-4 Sills caught seven passes for 131 yards and two touchdowns for the Mountaineers a year ago, including the game-winning score in a Cactus Bowl win over Arizona State.

He transferred to El Camino College in Torrance, California, to pursue his dream of playing quarterback, throwing for 1,636 yards and 15 touchdowns this season.

Also among the signees is offensive lineman Kelby Wickline out of Jones County Junior College in Ellisville, Mississippi. He’s the son of West Virginia offensive coordinator Joe Wickline.
