PAWTUCKET, R.I. (AP) - A donor has stepped up to replace figures that were stolen from a nativity scene outside a Catholic home for the elderly run by nuns.

The theft happened early Saturday morning from the Jeanne Jugan Residence of the Little Sisters of the Poor in Pawtucket. Video surveillance showed three men taking the figures.

WPRI-TV reports (https://bit.ly/2gTtjEl ) the nuns said on Friday that a local priest has donated new statutes to replace the stolen ones.

They are also surrounding the nativity scene in acrylic glass to deter thieves in the future.

They say they have also received donations to help pay for a new security system.
