DUBUQUE, Iowa (AP) - Residents in Dubuque can report snow and ice removal issues on city sidewalks using an app.

The Dubuque Telegraph Herald reports (https://bit.ly/2gIFNva ) that the MyDBQ app allows residents to request non-emergency city services using their smartphones or tablets.

Each request is assigned to an employee in the appropriate department. Dubuque city spokesman Randy Gehl says staff members always try to respond within 24 hours, depending on the nature of the call and their existing workload.

Nearly 1,300 people have downloaded the app and submitted about 500 requests since it was launched in 2015.
