ELKO, Nev. (AP) - A school board in northern Nevada has unanimously rejected bids for a middle school renovation project.

The Elko Daily Free Press reports (https://bit.ly/2hskC4s ) that the Elko County School Board rejected bids from Ascent Construction and MGM Construction for the $3.7 million renovation and gym expansion at West Wendover Middle School.

Both companies protested the decision. State law requires the board to review the protests if they are made within a certain amount of time.

Superintendent Jeff Zander says both bids had incorrect documentation and that the board will reopen bidding opportunities.

Zander believes both MGM and Ascent will correct the errors and resubmit their bids.
