LAS VEGAS (AP) - A fire official says a resident who was hospitalized after a condominium fire in Las Vegas has died.

Deputy Clark County Fire Chief Jon Klassen said Friday that neighbors called 911 a little before 11 p.m. Thursday, and firefighters arrived at the condo near Twain Avenue and Pecos Road to find flames through the roof.

Klassen says firefighters pulled the man from the burning unit, but he was later pronounced dead at Sunrise Hospital & Medical Center.

His name wasn’t immediately made public, pending notification of his family by the Clark County coroner.

Klassen says fire investigators traced the cause of the fire to an electrical malfunction in a bathroom fan.

He says the estimated loss was about $300,000.
