LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - The University of Kentucky says more than 1,000 students are expected to participate in its winter commencement ceremonies at Rupp Arena.

A statement from the school says UK President Eli Capilouto will preside at both ceremonies on Friday. The first, for graduate and professional students, will be held at 10 a.m. Another ceremony for undergraduate students will be held at 3 p.m.

The school says 179 students are expected to participate in the morning ceremony, and 866 are expected to participate in the afternoon event.

Students who receive degrees in August and December are eligible to walk in the commencements.
