BAY CITY, Mich. (AP) - A 21-year-old man and a teenager have been ordered held without bond on charges in connection with the slaying of a Bay City man whose stabbed body was found during a Thanksgiving Day house fire.

DeMarckeon M. “Marcus” Jackson of Bay City was arraigned Friday on single counts of open murder, felony murder, and larceny in a building. The first two charges carry maximum punishments of life imprisonment without the possibility of parole.

The Bay City Times reports (https://bit.ly/2gWBxbA ) 16-year-old Rodrick Williams was arraigned separately as an adult on the same charges.

They are charged in connection with the slaying of 59-year-old Steven Alan Bouza, whom authorities believe had helped the two suspects in the past.

Court-appointed attorneys were requested for both defendants.
