HOUSTON (AP) - A former Houston police officer is accused of organizing a murder-for-hire plot targeting his estranged wife and another woman.

Clarence McNatt was arrested Wednesday in the Houston suburb of Pasadena. The 63-year-old man remains jailed Friday.

He is charged with one count of solicitation to commit capital murder and two counts of solicitation to commit aggravated kidnapping with intent to commit sexual assault.

Police say McNatt last month tried to hire two undercover officers masquerading as hit men to kidnap and sexually assault the women then kill his wife’s friend.

Investigators say McNatt gave $100 and three gold rings as payment.

Court records don’t list an attorney who can speak for McNatt.
