CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. (AP) - Free Christmas trees will be available at Camp Lejeune this holiday season on a first-come, first-served basis.

Officials say the Christmas SPIRIT Foundation and FedEx is scheduled to give out the trees beginning at 7:30 a.m. Friday at Onslow Beach.

The trees will be distributed to military identification card holders in the main parking lot at Sand Dollar Shores Pavilion.

For the past several years, FedEx has helped to deliver, on average, 18,000 Christmas trees to 65 military bases throughout the U.S. and overseas. The trees are provided by more than 400 Christmas tree growers and retailers in 29 states.
