FARGO, N.D. (AP) - Sen. Heidi Heitkamp says she had a wide-ranging conversation with President-elect Donald Trump that didn’t include anything about a job in his administration.

Heitkamp was among invitees to Trump Tower in New York this week, and news of Friday’s meeting aroused immediate speculation that she might be a candidate for a position such as energy secretary.

Heitkamp, a Democrat in her first term, told The Associated Press she spoke with Trump for more than an hour about energy, agriculture and Interior Department issues.

She says she didn’t expect any discussion of jobs. She says she just wanted to share “vision and ideas” with Trump.
