WATERLOO, Iowa (AP) - An Iowa man who was found with roughly 500,000 child pornography images has been sentenced to prison.

The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier reports (https://bit.ly/2gPSOV7 ) that 60-year-old Forrest Lynn Rindels of Waterloo was given a five-year prison sentence Thursday in U.S. District Court in Cedar Rapids.

Rindels will have to participate in sex offender treatment while in prison and will be on seven years of supervised release following prison. He must also pay a $1,000 fine and a $100 special assessment.

Rindels pleaded guilty to receipt of child pornography. Other pornography and firearms charges were dismissed.

Authorities say they found child pornography on an internet address traced to Rindels’ home while investigating a peer-to-peer file-sharing network. Authorities found images and videos during a search of his computer.
