WEST MEMPHIS, Ark. (AP) - Drivers in the West Memphis area will see some lane closures next week as crews conduct routine inspections on the Interstate 55 Mississippi River bridge.

The Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department says the outside southbound lane of the river bridge will be closed from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. daily from Monday through Thursday, weather permitting. The agency says the outside northbound lane of the bridge will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily from Wednesday until Thursday, Dec. 15, but the lane will be open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

The heavily traveled bridge connects West Memphis to Memphis, Tennessee.
