DURHAM, N.H. (AP) - Police have identified an 86-year-old woman who died after her car rolled back and hit her in the driveway of a Durham home.

Police were called to the home around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a person struck by a car.

Police say Janet Dunham had started to back her car down the driveway but then stepped out the vehicle, leaving it in reverse. That’s when the car rolled back and hit her.

Dunham was taken to Portsmouth Regional Hospital where she later died.

The incident remains under investigation.
