MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) - Morgantown’s interim city manager says he’s removing himself as a candidate for the permanent position.

Glen Kelly told The Dominion Post (https://bit.ly/2h62YQ7 ) that heart problems he developed this year have gotten worse since he took over for Jeff Mikorski in August. Mikorski resigned to take a job in his native Wisconsin.

Kelly was among 30 people to apply for the permanent job.

Morgantown’s City Council is set to meet with five finalists next month.
