POMFRET, Vt. (AP) - Vermont police and federal investigators are working to undo some Grinch-like behavior after someone broke into a general store and the U.S. Postal Service site inside and cleaned out a Toys for Tots collection bin.

The bin for donations to the Toys for Tots program at the Teago General Store in Pomfret was cleaned out and the Postal Service reported 20 to 25 packages that were awaiting delivery were also stolen.

State Police say a burglar or burglars got into the small general store through the front windows between Wednesday evening and Thursday morning.

The Rutland Herald (https://bit.ly/2irsNva ) reports some state troopers picked up toys and other items to help replenish the Toys for Tots bin, but any toys donated after Friday evening will be saved for next year.
